The Sun that Dressed Up as the Moon
Took this picture in the evening thinking the moon was shining through all the clouds. Then, later that evening, noticed the moon was actually just crescent shaped that night. Good thing I was staring directly at it to take this picture…
A Moon During the Day
Speaking of picking the right time of day for pictures, we were walking by the Washington Monument just when the sky was a brilliant blue color and the moon was overhead. I wish I had brought a wide-angle lens so that you could see the entire monument with the moon there.
Bridge
More pictures of DC for you! The day before this picture, we had driven by this bridge and I saw a man taking a picture of it. At that time, it was around sunset, and everything was cast perfectly. I wasn’t able to get a similar shot, but he inspired me to at least try. Since my lighting was at the peak of day, I converted the image to a more sepia tone instead.
From Model To Flight
Yesterday, I posted a picture of an actual plane at airport. While in DC, we also went to the air and space museum. Here is a segment of that museum…kinda crazy how the flight has evolved…actually kinda crazy that we can fly!
Taking Flight
I headed to DC this month for interview. I had been planning on taking a year off for research. Unfortunately, things didn’t pan out and I had awful interviews. It’s ok though. Hopefully it’ll all work out for the better.
Konji
Yup. NOM NOM, indeed.
My friends and I were having a cereal-eating party (yup, that’s right!) and were discussing how we needed to have a word for continuing to eat despite being full just because the food is so delicious. We came up with “konjee.” Except that word also means not having had sex in ages and being extremely sexually frustrated. Thus, konji came to life.
Fascination
Yesterday, I posted a picture of bamboo. Following such, today I present you a panda. A panda who was so enraptured by this piece of bamboo that you couldn’t help but wonder what was going through it’s mind. Probably NOM NOM NOM.
From Death to Life
Considering the stump picture yesterday, I thought I’d offset it with some greenery. When I first moved to San Diego from Florida, I was shocked by how little green there was and even more shocked by how much I missed seeing green. I didn’t really know what I had until I moved here. I’ve learned to appreciate the colors of San Diego now, but boy, when now when I go back to FL, I definitely have a greater appreciation for it. It’s not just old people!
Hidden Age
I wasn’t sure what I should post up for Leap Day. I mean, it’s a day that comes only every 4 years, so surely it deserves a special post! Too much pressure. It took me some time to think about it, but I remembered that today my friend turned 6. At least he likes to pretend that he’s 6, though in actuality he’s what…24? In a way, trees are kind of like Leap Day. There’s a grace and agelessness to them. We often have no clue how many years they’ve weathered, until we’ve cut them down and looked at their rings. But by then, it’s too late. Now, just a stump.
Perspective
While walking through Balboa Park, my friend, Sonia, told me she thought this mobile would make a great photo. She’s unfortunate in that she is surrounded by friends who love to take pictures. She hasn’t gotten into it herself yet, but judging from her artistic eye, perhaps she should!
More Than Just Stairs
My friend, Grace, and I decided that this random staircase on the beach might be fun to take pictures of. Spent nearly an hour just in this one spot. Who would’ve thought that a few steps could’ve provided such photo opportunities. Definitely taught me to keep my mind open.
Reaching Out
This is a picture of my nephew. He’s a big whiney butt, but a super cute one at that. He’s apparently getting pretty rowdy now (even more so than before!) I haven’t seen him months and miss him and his sister so much. By the time I see them both next, I’ll have tons more pictures to add to this blog.
The Forgotten Panda
I know the red panda isn’t actually a panda, but it’s almost as cute! It’s actually Greg’s favorite animal. So, I took about a third of one of my zoo visits just taking pictures of this guy, to surprise Greggy with pictures. His cuteness definitely helped to keep me there too.
Flying
I took this photo when I went on a hike with Greg and his brother. WHAT?!? Me…going hiking? Yea, that’s right, I am a MOUNTAINEER! Well, that’s what Greg’s friend called us after she learned that we did such a thing. After all, these nerd feet aren’t really made for climbing. But we did it. So fearless indeed.
Lizard
Yesterday’s photo entry kinda bummed me out. So, here is something less sad, and well just kinda gross. At least I think lizards are gross. Well, my brother does too. In fact, he is scared of them will actually scream (yes, like a little girl) if there is a lizard even within ten feet of him. And if it somehow got into the house…well, lord let there be mercy on any ears within a 100 mile radius!
